Lexmark Acquires 2 Software Companies for $31.5 Million

Lexington, KY – Lexmark International announced Tuesday morning that it has purchased two west coast software companies, San Francisco-based Twistage and Seattle-based AccessVia, for a combined investment of approximately $31.5 million. These acquisitions represent the seventh and eighth such software companies purchased by Lexmark in the past three years as the company looks to expand its focus from the hardware of printers into printing solutions.

Twistage is a cloud platform to allow managing audio, video and images within the confines of a network’s firewalls, “bridging gaps in a company’s media management infrastructure,” according to a release from Lexmark.

AccessVia specializes in signage for use on retail shelves, creating templates and easily-managed print services for the type of signs customers would see in the grocery.
